Dining Room Sets for Every Texas Home

A dining room set is one of the few pieces of furniture the whole family uses every day. It hosts weeknight dinners and homework sessions, Sunday breakfasts and the big holiday meal, so it pays to choose one that fits your space, your style and the number of people you feed. Buying a coordinated set takes the guesswork out of matching, because the table and chairs are designed together and the heights, proportions and finishes line up from the start. At Bel Furniture you'll find dining room sets, dining table sets, kitchen table sets and dinette sets in every size and style, sold at direct factory pricing with no middleman markup.

How Many Pieces Do You Need?

The piece count on a dining set tells you how many people it seats. A 5-piece dining set includes a table and four chairs, a natural fit for apartments, breakfast nooks and smaller kitchens. A 7-piece dining room set pairs the table with six chairs and is the most popular choice for families who host friends and relatives often. For larger households and formal dining rooms, a 9-piece set seats eight. Many sets trade two chairs for a bench, so a 6-piece set with a bench tucks neatly against a wall and makes room for an extra child at dinnertime. Plan on about 24 inches of table edge per person so everyone has elbow room. If you already love your table and only need seating, browse our dining chairs and chair sets.

Standard, Counter and Bar Height Dining Sets

Standard height dining tables stand about 28 to 30 inches tall and pair with traditional dining chairs for the classic sit-down dinner that works for every age. Counter height dining sets rise to roughly 34 to 36 inches and use taller chairs or stools, creating a casual, pub-style look that feels at home next to a kitchen island or in an open-concept space. Bar height sets go taller still, at about 40 to 42 inches. Raised tables keep sight lines open, which helps a small room feel less crowded, and many include a storage shelf underneath for placemats and serving pieces. Explore our counter height dining sets if you want a higher, more relaxed table.

Round, Rectangular and Extendable Dining Tables

Table shape changes how a room feels and how people interact. Round dining sets encourage conversation because everyone can see each other, and they suit square rooms and tight corners. Several of our round sets include a faux marble lazy Susan so dishes travel around the table with ease. Rectangular tables are the most versatile choice for long, narrow dining rooms and seat more people along their length. If your guest list changes from week to week, look at extendable dining tables with a removable leaf that adds seats for the holidays and stores away the rest of the year. Our guide to extendable dining tables explains the difference between drop leaf, butterfly leaf and self-storing leaf designs.

Dining Room Set Styles: Modern, Farmhouse, Glam and Traditional

Modern dining room sets lean on clean lines, metal bases and materials like faux marble, glass and sleek upholstery. Modern farmhouse sets blend warm wood tones with rustic texture and pair easily with open shelving and neutral palettes. Glam dining sets bring the drama with silver and champagne finishes, mirrored trim and tufted velvet chairs, ideal for a dining room that doubles as an entertaining space. Traditional and formal dining room sets feature rich espresso finishes, classic silhouettes and high-back upholstered chairs that make every holiday meal feel like an occasion. If comfort is your top priority for long dinners, our article on choosing a comfortable dining room set walks through seat depth, cushioning and back support.

Popular Colors and Finishes

Color sets the mood of the room before anyone sits down. A black dining room set, especially one with gold or chrome accents, gives a bold, contemporary look and hides everyday wear well. White and cream sets brighten small or dim spaces and feel fresh against light floors. Gray finishes sit comfortably between warm and cool palettes, so they coordinate easily with furniture you already own. Warm brown and walnut tones bring a timeless, welcoming feel and work with almost any wall color, while silver and champagne finishes add shine to glam and formal rooms. When you're unsure, choose a neutral table and let the chairs, centerpiece and rug carry the color.

Affordable Dining Room Sets and Flexible Financing

A beautiful dining room doesn't have to stretch your budget. Because Bel Furniture prices direct from the factory, you can shop dining room sets under $500 that still look and feel like a long-term investment. For larger purchases, flexible payment options include up to 60 months of special financing with approved credit, so you can bring home the set you want today and pay over time.

Complete Your Dining Room

A dining set is the centerpiece, but a few supporting pieces make the room work. A sideboard gives you serving space and storage for linens and dinnerware, a dining bench adds flexible seating along a wall or window, and a china cabinet displays heirlooms and glassware. For backyard entertaining, our outdoor dining sets bring the same family-style meals onto the patio.
