A comfortable place to sleep and a home that feels welcoming can make a meaningful difference during a time of change. At Bel Furniture, we recently had the opportunity to support Boysville Children’s Home and Shelter in the San Antonio area with 10 queen mattress sets and mattress protectors. We also donated living room, dining room and bedroom furniture to help a young adult at Boysville prepare for his next chapter: moving into his own home this December.
Supporting the Children and Young Adults at Boysville
Located in Converse, Texas, Boysville provides shelter, care and support for children and young adults facing difficult circumstances. Its programs include emergency shelter, residential care and supervised independent living, offering support at different stages of a young person’s life.
During our visit, our team learned that Boysville serves residents ranging from six weeks to 24 years old and has four housing units on its campus, including independent living. For children who have experienced family disruption and uncertainty, a consistent place to live and caring people around them matter.
We chose Boysville because we wanted to contribute something practical to that daily care. Comfortable beds and useful furniture are essentials that our team can help provide.

10 Queen Mattress Sets to Bring Everyday Comfort
Bel Furniture donated 10 queen mattress sets, along with mattress protectors, to support Boysville’s residents. These are everyday items, but they play an important role in making a bedroom comfortable and ready for the person who uses it.
A bed offers a place to rest after school, work or a busy day. Mattress protectors help the Boysville team care for those beds as part of the work they do each day. We were grateful to help meet this need with a delivery our team could bring directly to the campus.

Helping a Young Adult Prepare for Independent Living
Our visit also gave us an opportunity to support a young adult preparing to move out of Boysville and begin living on his own in December 2026. Moving into a first home is a major step, and the cost of furnishing it can add to an already long list of responsibilities.
To help him prepare, Bel Furniture provided:
- Living room furniture
- A dining room set
- A queen bedroom set
- A queen mattress set
These pieces will give him a place to relax, sit down for a meal and get a night’s rest as he settles into his new home. We hope this support makes the move a little easier and gives him room to focus on the plans he is making for his future.
Boysville’s Supervised Independent Living program helps young adults build everyday skills while pursuing work and education. We are grateful to contribute to one resident’s next step beyond the campus.

The People Behind the Delivery
Thank you to the Bel Furniture team members who helped transport and unload the mattresses and furniture. The photos from our visit show the care and teamwork that went into getting each piece where it needed to go.
We also thank the Boysville staff for welcoming us and helping us understand where our donation could be useful. Their ongoing work supports children and young adults through changes that require patience, consistency and care.

Giving Back to the Communities We Call Home
As a family-owned Texas furniture company, Bel Furniture is thankful for opportunities to support our neighbors. This visit to Boysville brought that commitment into focus through a specific need: beds for residents and furniture for a young adult preparing for his first home.
To everyone at Boysville, thank you for letting us be part of this effort. To the young adult getting ready for his December move, we wish you well as you take this next step.
