Shining a Light on Community: Bel Furniture Partners with Star of Hope to Transform a Family's Life

This week, we had the privilege of partnering with Star of Hope, a remarkable organization dedicated to providing shelter, support, and hope to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Houston. Through this collaboration, we were able to assist the Skidmore family, who were facing significant challenges, in creating a sense of comfort and stability in their new home.

The Skidmore family, including a resilient grandmother and her daughter and granddaughter, recently relocated to Houston to support loved ones after experiencing a series of unfortunate events. They faced numerous hardships, including domestic violence, the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl, and the recent diagnosis of a serious health condition for the matriarch. Despite these challenges, the family's strength and perseverance have been truly inspiring.

After settling into their new apartment, the Skidmore family found themselves in need of essential furnishings to transform their living space into a true home. Recognizing their need, we partnered with Star of Hope to provide them with essential furniture, including: two twin beds, twin mattresses, foundations and headboards. 

The family's gratitude was palpable as they saw the transformation. This was more than just a furniture delivery; it was about restoring hope, dignity, and a sense of normalcy to a family who had endured so much.

Star of Hope plays a vital role in providing shelter, food, and essential services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Houston.
