Giving Back the Bel Way
What We Do
Our year-round BELieve campaign focuses on different aspects of community involvement, from furniture donations and fundraising to volunteering our personal time to various organizations. Whether we are lending time or money to an individual or an organization, our hearts are with the communities that we work to improve, one volunteer mission/donation at a time.
History
At Bel Furniture, we are extremely grateful to the cities that we serve. In 2006, we launched our BELieve campaign that creates opportunities to give back to families and communities in need. Staff members have voted that our 12 Days of Christmas event is their favorite event each year. Our big Christmas event is just one example of the many ways that we give back to our communities.
Partnering for the Greater Good
We believe that when our community thrives, we all thrive. One partnership that is truly special to us is the USO (United Service Organization), which provides programs and services to United States troops and their families. On a regular basis, we participate with the food bank and furniture bank to offer our services and lightly used inventory that others may enjoy.
Our Famous Christmas Drive
The holidays are often stressful for struggling families, and we at Bel Furniture want to help ease that burden so that the season can be enjoyed to the fullest regardless of income level. Every Christmas, Bel partners with local charities to donate furniture to families in need. The simple comfort of a warm bed, cozy couch, or a relaxing chair can be taken for granted, but for so many, this is the most needed gift.
Hope For Three
We donated a 6 piece bedroom set for a live auction. This autism advocacy group provides resources and financial aid so children can receive life-changing therapies and services.
Museum of Natural Science
Jingle Tree Silent auction in Sugarland. We delivered and set up Christmas trees to the highest bidder. All proceeds benefited the museum.
Star of Hope
BEL Furniture donated dining room tables to 3 families who completed the Star of Hope recovery program and had made the next step to independent housing.
Toys For Tots
We collected over 80,000 toys this year for lower-income families and sick children spending Christmas at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Hurrican Harvey Help
Rachel lost everything in Hurricane Harvey and again later from a house fire. We gave her a bed, mattress, and four-piece bedroom set to help.
Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank distributes 122 million meals through its network of 1500 community partners in Southeast Texas, feeding 800,000 people each year.
Texas Children's Hospital
Bel Furniture partnered with Costco to help collect money for Texas Children’s Hospital.
Love Thy Neighbor Clinic
Love Thy Neighbor Clinic offers $15 sports physicals. Bel gave everyone who attended the clinic a chance to win a bed just in time for the school year.
Kary Christian Ministries
KCM helps others fight poverty, food insecurity, domestic violence, and sexual assault. Bel spent the day helping in the food pantry and resale store.
A Fresh Start Treatment Center
A Fresh Start Treatment Center provides 24/7 care for young boys in a family-style home setting. Bel offered brand new furniture at 2 of the housing units.
Tropical Storm Imelda
Tropical Storm Imelda caused major flooding, destroying many homes and structures. Here are a series of projects we volunteered for to help rebuild and refurnish homes.
Toys for Tots
Our Bel volunteers joined forces with Toys for Tots and the radio station 104.7 FM to collect and donate a plethora of brand new toys to be enjoyed by kids of varying ages.
